Beginning to learn about blogging largely consists of learning the terminology used by bloggers. You’ll need to understand these terms: blog, platform, domain and web host. First we should talk about platforms. A platform is the software which provides you the ability to write and edit your blog posts, as well as to place theme on your blog. Next are web hosts. A web host is the server which your blog resides on; think of it as a file cabinet. Your computer will talk to the host every time you edit a post or upload new content to your blog.

Domain is simply the web address of your blog, typically ending in .com.
