Although it would appear conflicting, flexibility in the use of office space and the capability to Work From Home can be maximized, while enabling the working environment to become more remote. This is particularly the case in the areas that sustain online jobs or are concerned with internet business.

This cannot occur without an inventive vision of the work place, whether that be the traditional office or any other workplace (including the percentage of staff who now regularly Work From Home). The flexibility of today’s business, especially where the habitual business model has been replaced with the newer Work From Home model, increases when less things have to be wired in, moved around or installed in the first place. By connecting the business loosely with its site, efficiency is maximized. This is a necessity when the company concerned is running an internet business and the majority of the creation is provided through Online Jobs.

Most offices thinks about their office layout with the idea that bespoke environments have to be available for specific users. Every time an organization alters, the users move and the office formation is changed. This approach becomes more expensive, the more frequently changes occur. There is a new concept emerging, which in the built environment consists of offering specific work places with a clear role in the best suitable (not necessarily the smallest) place. However there is also a different model which promotes the idea that all future companies will in fact be an Internet Business. Instead of looking to provide physical workspace for their staff an internet business seeks to support online jobs by creating virtual space which allows their staff to work from home whilst still remaining part of the business.

In an Internet Business model the word “place” takes on a different significance. It is where work is produced … not where the employee is physically located. A strange notion which would see, for example, the “place” this article is produced is in a digital software application. All Online Jobs for instance would then be considered in this way and we realise a disconnect between the activity and setting. This is something absolutely fundamental to the growth of the internet business model and local economic model that sees a rise in the number of online jobs provided by employees who Work From Home.

The internet business model sees the worker organize his work and select when, with whom and on which media or work place something should be done. Depending on the sort of the job and the style of work, the user opts for the best media or work place, to suit his individual requirements. He can select from a range of differing work places including the chance to work from home.
